I spent $999 on a "high-converting" landing page template.
It had all the elements: Hero section. Pain points. Testimonials. Urgency triggers. Countdown timers. Exit-intent popups.
It converted at 0%.
Then I built a simple page that broke every "rule"—no countdown timer, no fake scarcity, no pain agitation. Just truth, beauty, and an honest invitation.

Design Principles for Portal Pages
Sacred Geometry
I use golden ratio proportions throughout:
1.618 spacing ratios
Fibonacci sequences in layout
Sacred geometry in structure
Sounds woo? My split tests say otherwise.
Color as Frequency
Colors aren't just aesthetic. They're energetic:

Clean whites for clarity
Warm earth tones for grounding
Match color to intention, not just "brand."
Typography as Voice
Fonts carry personality:
