How to create your dream life
Understanding the role of structure, clarity, and money.
Most people never stop to consider what they actually want out of life.
So they adopt what society considers to be normal.
Get a 9-5 that pays well
Retire when at 65
Live paycheck to paycheck
Find a partner in your 20s - 30s
I think most people are actually waking up to the fact that what society considers “normal” nowadays is making us depressed.
I plan to help you save yourself before it is too late.
The Role of Money
Working a 9-5 actually gives you a major opportunity because you have an income to work with.
Money should be used for 3 things:
Supporting your lifestyle
Investing into skills, knowledge, education, and mentoring.
Expanding your creative ability
Your money should be focused on making habits that create your dream reality easy.
If you are passionate about becoming a yoga instructor. Invest your money into marketing your service and certifying yourself as a yoga teacher.
If you are passionate about becoming a DJ. Invest your money into courses that teach you more about the industry, building a personal brand, and networks that hire DJs.
If you want to move off the grid and grow your own food. Educate yourself on where to stay, what communities to join, and how to grow your own food.
The point is that you should use your money to learn from people that are living the life you want to live.
The Role of Structure
One of the biggest lessons from the book ‘Atomic Habits’ is that your habits affirm your identity and vice versa.
If you build an identity for yourself that can stay consistent, driven, disciplined, and clear on your purpose. Success becomes a matter of time.
This means that you should incorporate the habits that form part of your dream life now. Even if they aren’t giving you the results that you desire.
Consistency pays of.
How to structure your life
The 5 principles of a structured life:
Write down your most important habits that will help you to create your dream life.
Pick a day where you schedule your upcoming week.
Have a solid morning routine and evening routine.
Choose a specific time to wake up and stick to it.
Write down a to-do-list every morning
Having structure makes doing good habits easy and negative habits hard.
The important thing is to give your time purpose.
What do I mean by that?
You will never find yourself bored if you know what to do every second of the day.
Structure makes it easy to know exactly what you need to do, when you need to do it, and why it is important.
The role of clarity
Don’t lose yourself in an endless world of distraction.
Get clear on what you want from life:
How you want to live it?
Where you want to travel to?
How are you going to make money?
What skills are you good at?
What skills do you need to invest into?
What habits will contribute towards your success, performance, and health?
The only thing we can truly control is where we place our attention and where we place our effort. Choose wisely.
