How To Become Top 1%
Get Ahead Of The Zombies
Back in high school I was a simple man.
Go out with friends, have fun, don’t concentrate at school, scroll socials for validation after getting home, no gym membership, poor diet, and zero healthy habits.
Everyone goes through that phase in high school. But the majority of people still follow that path.
Nothing wrong with it. But it does not symbolize greatness.
If you want to become truly successful you must become the master of yourself.
Mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Thankfully, the competition is truly easy to beat once you have control over yourself.
Becoming top 1% will require you to cut out distractions, eliminate bad habits, and destroy your addictions. You will also be replacing this toxic lifestyle with some healthy habits to become your best version.
Healthy body leads to healthy mind. Healthy mind leads to a happy soul.
Habits & Identity
Your habits will determine your success as an individual.
Your habits reinforce your identity, and your identity reinforces your habits.
This is a concept from the book ‘Atomic habits’ by James Clear.
Your success will depend on how consistent you remain with the habits associated with your goals and vision for your life.
Foundational Practices For Becoming Top 1%
Now of course everyone has different habits they need to incorporate to become successful, but the most common habits that I have observed with successful people are:
Movement, Exercise, & Stretching
Mindfulness
Journaling
Reading & Studying
Breathwork
Creative Acts
Success is not just about money, but manifesting your gifts into the world and making a meaningful change in the lives of other human beings. This is how the top 1% operates.
Self-Mastery, Discipline, & Willpower
Becoming successful will require you to have full control over your body and mind.
You must be able to manifest your will onto reality.
This requires you to cultivate discipline.
Discipline will allows you to stay consistent with the habits that reinforce your identity associated with self-mastery and willpower. This creates momentum that continuously reinforces your willpower.
Think of these traits as values that become part of your identity. They are like muscles you train, and the more reps you put in, the stronger these values become.
Start by doing something uncomfortable every day. Cold plunges and vigorous exercise are among my favorite. But everyone has separate goals which means everyone has different tasks that will challenge them.
For example, someone who is starting their own business needs to stay consistent with the habits of :
Putting out content
Hosting meetings if they have a team.
Creating products
Engaging with clients and other entrepreneurs
Building products
Staying consistent with your habits is the key. But you need a vision that gives you motivation to stay consistent even when you don’t see results.
This is where most people quit. We constantly see this with new-years resolutions. People decide to pack on another challenge in their life and they quit halfway through, because they don’t see results.
Cultivating A Vision
Visualize and write down exactly what to want to do with your life.
Start by:
Brainstorming your purpose in this life.
Break it down into a long-term goal. (5 to 10 years)
Set yearly goals that strategically moves the needle towards your vision.
Break it down even smaller into monthly goals.
Identify the habits needed to execute on that goal.
Stay consistent.
Make sure your vision is either written down on paper or part of a vision board.
This must exist as a reminder of the goals you are pursuing whenever your motivation is low.
Because the hardest part is staying consistent.
You will get discouraged and fail on some days.
Don’t stop.
Keep on pushing. Use the power of your mind to get back on track as soon as possible. (This is why there are foundational habits you must incorporate that build mental strength.)
Just stay consistent. If there is one thing you take away from this newsletter. Let it be consistency.
Consistency is the key to greatness.
It is what separates the successful from those that give up halfway.
